On Golden Pond, the classic Broadway comedy on
which the Academy Award-winning film was based, is the funny,
endearing and touching story of three generations of the Thayer
family who come together for a summer holiday in a country
house.
As the golden days of summer pass, the family explore their
relationship with each other - with amusing and often moving
results.
This lavish new production sees Hollywood film and television star
Stefanie Powers joined by British film star and
RSC / National Theatre leading man Richard
Johnson, with Elizabeth Carling (best
known from her regular roles in Boon, Goodnight
Sweetheart and Casualty) playing their daughter
Chelsea.
The New York Daily News described the play as "A work of rare
simplicity and beauty", and the Middle Ground production has been
garnering high praise from press and audiences alike on its British
tour.
